2026 Endorsements
The Stanislaus County Democratic Central Committee (SCDCC) has announced its endorsed candidates and local ballot measures for the November 3, 2026, election
…backing community leaders committed to making Stanislaus County a more affordable, accountable, and prosperous place to live.
The endorsements span cities and local districts throughout Stanislaus County, including candidates for city councils, school boards, the Modesto Irrigation District, and Yosemite Community College District, as well as support for local ballot measures in Ceres, Modesto, and Waterford.
“Our local elections are about the issues people experience every day,” said Larry Bolton, Chair of the Elections Subcommittee for the Stanislaus County Democratic Central Committee. “We need to invest in our schools and make sure every child has the opportunity to succeed. We need safe, reliable water without rates becoming an unnecessary burden on working families. And we need a local government that is transparent, accountable, and focused on delivering for the people it serves. Above all, we need to make sure that families who have built their lives here can still afford to live here.”
Bolton continued, “Our endorsed candidates have stepped forward because they believe in serving their communities and solving problems. We are proud to support them and encourage voters to learn about these local races, make their voices heard, and vote this November.”
Local Leadership Has a Direct Impact
National politics may dominate the news, but many of the decisions that most directly affect residents are made locally.
School boards determine how communities invest in education. Local water agencies make decisions that affect the reliability and affordability of a basic necessity. City councils shape neighborhoods, services, development, and the cost of living. Local elected officials have a responsibility to be transparent about how public resources are spent and accountable to the residents they represent.
The SCDCC's endorsements reflect these priorities.

The SCDCC makes endorsements in both partisan and nonpartisan local races, and we encourage voters to learn more about the candidates and measures appearing on their ballots.
